Dr. Erica Nelson

Dr. Erica Nelson grew up in Minnesota but has proudly called Iowa home for the past decade. She may already be a familiar face to many clients, having previously served as a member of the breeding management team at Abraham's Equine Clinic before pursuing her veterinary degree.

Dr. Nelson earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Iowa State University in May 2026 and is thrilled to return to Abraham's Equine Clinic as an equine veterinarian. While in veterinary school, she also completed training in veterinary acupuncture and is currently finishing the final requirements for certification. She will also complete her certification in Veterinary Spinal Manipulation Therapy (VSMT) in November 2026, allowing her to offer additional treatment options for her patients.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Nelson enjoys spending time with her husband and their many animals. You'll often find her team roping, traveling, or taking advantage of the outdoors whenever she can.
